FLAT edition 2018 will be hosted at La Centrale in the new Nuvola Lavazza complex

Nuvola Lavazza is the name chosen for the redevelopment project promoted by Lavazza, in agreement with the city of Turin, in the area of the former Enel power plant in the Aurora district, characterized since its origins by industrial, artisanal activities and residences.

The project by Cino Zucchi Architetti redesigns the block between the streets of Bologna, Pisa, Ancona and Corso Palermo, creating a new vital environment where Lavazza has created the new management center of the company: a single seat for about 600 employees with a sinuous shape of a big cloud. The materials used for the construction include alternating glass panels with metal panels and glasses treated with decorative silk-screen printing.

The entire complex, in addition to the Lavazza Headquarters, includes la Piazza, a green area that connects via Ancona to via Bologna, La Centrale and the historic building on the corner between via Bologna and via Pisa that houses the headquarters of the IAAD – Istituto of Applied Arts and Design.

La Centrale, where FLAT will present the new exhibition and cultural proposal from 2 to 4 November, is a place open to meetings and ideas, a large flexible environment that can accommodate up to a thousand people. This impressive space of 4,500 square meters, which recovers the spaces of the former power plant on Via Bologna, is the expression of Lavazza’s artistic vocation and houses inside the gourmet restaurant Condividere, the Bistrot, the Congress Center and a space where debates, cultural, musical and artistic events will take place.
